Box 37 Ephrata, WA 98823 RE: Authorization to Rebuild Equipment No. 0494 in 2026 Honorable Board of County Commissioners: Grant County Solid Waste has a Caterpillar 973D Track Loader. The machine currently has 9,458 hours of use. The engine, hydrostatic drives, hydraulic system and undercarriage are significantly worn. The machine is also experiencing power loss and other ongoing issues. The price of a new loader is $910,000. The machine has collected $466,667.03. Public Works has received a quote from NC Machinery to rebuild the loader for $385,710.21. The rebuild would replace all the worn components along with wiring and refurbishing the cab.
