.A "ciiticalposition" is one that is essential to maintaining public safety and the legal, f n.ancial, and operational continuity.
This is a backfill request for a Plans Examiner 1 or 2. The vacancy was created due to an employee
who accepted an internal position as a Flans Examiner 2. The employee was a Building Inspector 2
prior to accepting the position.
The Development Services organization is seeking to back -fill the position as a Plans Examiner (1 or 2).
DS currently has two Building Inspectors (full-time) and filling the position as Plans Examiner would
afford the organization the ability to engage the successful candidate in learning the Flans Examiner
role chile still being able to assign them to do building inspections. Simultaneously, having someone
N,,rho can perform building inspections while learning the Plans Examiner position also affords
development and growth of the employee, while meeting department objectives.
