RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION RESOLUTION No. 26- 03`I -CC
OF INTERAGENCY AGREEMENT
BETWEEN GRANT COUNTY AND
WASHINGTON STATE OFFICE OF PUBLIC
DEFENSE
WHEREAS, Chapter 34.39 RCW, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, permits local government
entities to make the most efficient use of their powers by enabling them to cooperate with other
localities on a basis of mutual advantage, for the purposes of providing services and facilities in a
manner and pursuant to forms of governmental organization that will accord best with geographic,
economic, population and other factors influencing the needs and development of local communities;
and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Office of Public Defense (OPD), is authorized pursuant
to Chapter 3 9.3 4 RCW to enter into Interagency Agreements; and
WHEREAS, Grant County, Washington, by and through the Grant County Department of
Public Defense is vested with authority to enter into an interagency agreement pursuant to Chapter
39.34 RCW; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Interagency Agreement is to provide funding to the host
entity to support placement of a Rural Public Defense Fellow for the duration of the 10-week
fellowship program; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of Grant County Public Defense and Washington State OPD to
enter into this Interagency Agreement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the attached Interagency
Agreement between Grant County and the Washington State Office of Public Defense be approved.
