A "critical position" is one that is essential to maintaining public safety and the legal, financial, and operational continuity.
The litter crew is staffed by two employees who travel throughout the county to collect roadside litter.
For safety reasons, it is not feasible to send a single employee into the field alone. Additionally, most
illegal dump sites require two employees to safely lift and load heavy items such as couches, washing
machines, and mattresses into a pickup or trailer. This position was recently vacated, and we are
requesting approval to backfill it. The role is already included in the 2026 budget.
