the position's criticality.
A "critical position" is one that is essential to maintaining public safety and the legal, financial, and operational continuity.
We need to hire another election deputy to be in compliance with the state RC W 36.22.220. Under
RCW 29A.04.540, new election administrators have up to 18 months to complete required training
throught the Secretary of State. The full certification process(courseworl�, experience, exams) can take
months to complete. The election conference is June 1st through the 4th. They must attend 2 election
conferences along with course work and other training opportunities to become certified.
Risk mitigation, during an election we must always have two employees at all time while ballots are
being process. We have two countywide elections coming up and will need to be adequatel�;, staff.
