Approval of this request would permanently reclassifying two Permit Tech 2 positions to Senior Permit Technician AKA Permit Tech 3 positions. This request is part of a comprehensive reconstruction of admire support within DS, intended to strategic align staffing resources with other functions in the department. This request is adjacent to the development of a new Admin Asst position that would assume the Payroll/ Finance duties the two incumbents have been performing, in an acting (out -of -class) status, since Jan '25. However, in accordance with the Senior Permit Tech job description, both would be expected to serve as a backup (as needed) and would also retain responsibility for training of any new employees.
