A "critical,position" is one that is essential to maintaining public safety and the legal,financial, and operational continuity.
Grant County is experiencing continued growth associated 1.Nrith renewable energy development,
infrastructure expansion, and rural land use activity. Many of these projects intersect with
environmentally sensitive resources such as shrubsteppe habitat, wetlands, geologic hazard areas,
shoreline environments, FEMA-regulated floodplains, and cultural or archaeological sites. As a result,
the technical complexit-y and workload associated �N-rith enNironmental rexde-v�r has increased
significantly. This position provides technical expertise necessary to review environmental studies
submitted NNq*th development applications, including wetland delineations, habitat assessments,
geotechnical reports, cultural resource surveys, and floodplain analyses. This position also ensures
projects comply with key regulatory frameworks including the Growth Management Act, Shoreline
Management Act, SEPA, FEMA floodplain management requirements, and the County's Critical Areas
regulations.
