The City of Ephrata Police Department, long ago, outgrew its current facility. A new facility is needed to provide for the long-term critical mission of community law enforcement. The proposed Law Enforcement and City Services Center would be a practical project, remodeling an existing modern building, with an existing paved parking facility, which is centrally located at the corner of Basin Street (SR-28) and Nat Washington Way to provide these services to the community. The City has the local funding available for the required 45% match of $5,062,500. Coupled with the requested Congressionally Directed Spending provides a total of $11,250,000, which would complete the Ephrata Law Enforcement and City Services Center project. Grant County and the City of Ephrata share a longstanding and effective public safety partnership. Our Sheriff s Office and the Ephrata Police Department collaborate daily to protect residents and ensure coordinated law enforcement services throughout the region. This project reflects that shared commitment. The nearly completed 512-bed Grant County Jail stands as a testament to the strength of our partnership and would not have been possible without the City of Ephrata's steadfast support. We have full confidence in the City's leadership, fiscal responsibility, and dedication to meeting the evolving needs of its residents. For these reasons, Grant County strongly and unequivocally supports this Congressionally Directed Spending request. Kevin R.
