Dr. Nelson contacted a surgeon at WSU VTH who stated there are possible OPtiOns to allow stabilization but there is question as to this being a durable fix, Meaning the tracheal rings that are broken are likely to be weak even if sear fissue develops and very prone to re -injury. Avoiding pressure on Uno's neck indefinitely 'I's crucial whether he bas sIIr9erY to stabilize the cartilage or not, it is my opinion that given these injuries and the duties required of hfin that be is no longer medically ,able to continue as a patrol/apprehension dog. I recommend he be medically retired and placed in a Pet only home with use of a harness at all. times. Dr. Whitney Nelson, DVS DACVIM agrees with this -recommendation. , Sincerely, Jesyka Mor "r1son t Morrison Mobile Veterinary Services 3918 E Broadway Ave Moses Lake, WA 98837
