GRANT COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ANNOUNCE
APPOINTMENT OF REPLACEMENT PROSECUTING
ATTORNEY
Grant County - The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), after a thorough and rigorous selection
process, announced on July 22, 2025 the selection of Brandon Guernsey as the Grant County
Prosecuting Attorney, succeeding Kevin McCrae. Brandon Guernsey will be appointed effective

Brandon has been serving in the DistrictAttorney's Office Augusta Judicial Circuit in Augusta, Georgia
as an Assistant District Attorney. Before that, he served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Grant
County from 2017 until he left in February of this year. He handled complex narcotics cases with the
Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (INET), along with violent crimes to include gang related
and firearm offenses. Brandon plans to bring experience, vision, and a commitmentto transform the
Prosecutor's Office into one of the strongest and most community -centered departments in the state.
The Prosecuting Attorney Applicant Interviews, which took place on July 21, 2025 starting at 2:00
p.m., as well as the announcement of the selection, were recorded and will be posted to the BOCC's
official YouTube page entitled Grant County, WA: BOCC.
