FOR VACATING a portion of unbuilt Old
County Rd. 528 known as W-NW rights -of -
way, Sections19, 20, 29 & 30 all in T21N
R23EWM
WHEREAS, Grant County, Washington, has reviewed certain County road and rights -of -way
described as follows: Legal description: Grant County unbuilt Old County Road 528, also known
as W-NW rights -of -way, Sections19, 20, 29 & 30 all in T21N R23EWM Grant County,
Washington, AS SHOWN on ATTACHED EXHIBIT A, and
WHEREAS, Hawthorne Renewable Energy is planning construction of a large solar farm in
conjunction with neighboring parcels to serve growing electrical needs, and known as Appledale, and,
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has determined that consideration should be
given to vacating portions of certain County roads and rights -of -way and directs the County Road
Engineer to prepare a report on the vacation and abandonment of said rights.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT the Grant County Board of
Commissioners set a Public Hearing on the report and other related matters on August 26th, 2025 at
3:00 p.m. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioner's Hearing Room, Room #101, Ephrata,
