EXECUTION OF INTERAGENCY
AGREEMENT IAA25011 BETWEEN
WASHINGTON STATE OFFICE OF
PUBLIC DEFENSE AND GRANT
COUNTY PUBLIC DEFENSE AGENCY
WHEREAS, Chapter 34.39 RCW, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, permits local
government entities to make the most efficient use of their powers by enabling them to cooperate
with other localities on a basis of mutual advantage, for the purposes of providing services and
facilities in a manner and pursuant to forms of governmental organization that will accord best
with geographic, economic, population and other factors influencing the needs and development
of local communities; and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Office of Public Defense (OPD) is authorized
pursuant to Chapter 39.34 RCW to enter into interagency agreements; and
WHEREAS, Grant County, Washington, by and through the Grant County Public
Defense Agency, is vested with authority to enter into an interagency agreement pursuant to
Chapter 3 9.3 4 RCW; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Interagency Agreement IAA25011 is to provide funding
to the county to support placement of a Rural Public Defense Fellow; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of Grant County, by and through the Grant County Public
Defense Agency and the Washington State Office of Public Defense, to enter into this
Interagency Agreement IAA2 5 011.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the attached Interagency
Agreement between the Grant County Public Defense Agency and the Washington State Office
of Public Defense be approved.
