On April 1, 2025, Equipment Sales Company conducted an inspection in response to concerns raised by the mechanics. The inspection revealed that the lift is exhibiting significant wear in the vertical channels. The estimated cost to disassemble and rebuild the existing lift exceeds 50% of the cost of a new unit, with no guarantee of long-term reliability or safety. Given the frequency of use almost daily Public Works recommends replacing the lift at this time to ensure continued safe and efficient operations. The proposed replacement would match the size and lifting capacity of the current unit. The cost of the new lift is $10,024.73, excluding sales tax, and the purchase would be made through GSA Contract GS0717294AA. Thank you for your consideration of this request.
