Re: Memorialization of comments and approval
of work on the Grant County Fairgrounds
In our continuing efforts to provide more security on the fairgrounds after last year's shooting
incident, Central Service planned to add cameras to the new lighting poles being installed in
South Field by MUSCO lighting. This is an approved fiscal year 2025 capital project.
The wiring required for the cameras was outside the scope of the lighting contract and needed to
be added to the scope of the electrician, Neppel Electric. After negotiating a price. (Invoice
attached) I recommended to the County Commissioners that we go forward with this work. Also,
time was of the essence as Neppel Electric is currently installing the light bases, and the ditches
are open where we would be required to install the infrastructure for the cameras.
The Commissioners agreed and authorized Central Services to move forward, and this letter
memorializes that approval. Thank you for your continued support in furthering the development
and safety of the fairgrounds.
The total for this work is $14,915.37
