RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION No. 25- 0 3U -CC
EXECUTION OF INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF'S
OFFICE AND THE CITY OF SOAP
LAKE FOR PAYMENT OF LAW
ENFORCEMENT SERVICES
WHEREAS, Chapter 34.39 RCW, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, permits local
government entities to make the most efficient use of their powers by enabling them to cooperate
with other localities on a basis of mutual advantage, for the purposes of providing services and
facilities in a manner and pursuant to forms of governmental organization that will accord best
with geographic, economic, population and other factors influencing the needs and development
of local communities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Soap Lake is authorized pursuant to Chapter 39.34 RCW to
enter into interlocal agreements; and
WHEREAS, Grant County, Washington, by and through the Grant County Sheriff s
Office (GCSO), is vested with authority to enter into an interlocal agreement pursuant to Chapter
39.34 RCW; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Interlocal Agreement is to provide GCSO payment for
the law enforcement services it performed for the City for an undetermined amount of time
during 2 02 5 ; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of Grant County, by and through the Grant County Sheriff s
Office and the City of Soap Lake to enter into this Interlocal Agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the attached Interlocal
Agreement between the Grant County Sheriff s Office and the City of Soap Lake be approved.
