This agreement would greatly benefit the Veterans of Grant County with little impact on the County. However, we do advise that the contract be amended to include some sort of report of results to justify the use of contracted spaces. The VAB discussed, in depth, the potential of working with the VVA on being provided space to perform VA approved functions to support the Veterans of Grant County. This space, if approved, could be collocated with our current County VSO office to create a "one -stop shop" scenario for all Veterans. In a unanimous vote of the VAB at the meeting held on February 12, 2025, we recommend the County Commissioners provide an agreement to the VVA to support the Veterans in Grant County or beyond if their agency chooses (meaning the VVA could provide VA support to non -Grant County Veterans) . We further recommend that the VVA provide some accountability to the County in exchange for providing office space, utilities, and support. This accountability can be minimal, with no exposure to private information (i.e. number of Veterans served, referred, etc.) . We believe by making this "one -stop shop" available for all Veterans, the County will be able to better serve, and refer, if necessary, the more than 5,500 veterans - and growing - of Grant County that have been underserved for many years. Working with, and under the leadership of the County Veteran Service Officer, Anthony Garcia, we believe Grant County could become a shining star in County Veteran Services throughout the State of Washington. Once again, this is a unanimous recommendation of your VAB, and we look forward to assisting the Grant County Commissioners and all Veterans of Grant County in any way possible. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either myself or Anthony Garcia. Thank you for your consideration on this matter. Jerry T. Gingrich, Chair Veterans Advisory Board (VAB) Grant County RECEIVED FEB 2 0 2025 GRANT COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
