Last week the controller for the HVAC system in the Law and Justice building was found out of service with a general fault and maintenance was unable to communicate with it. Johnson Controls from Spokane was called to troubleshoot the controller. They found the processor had failed. Johnson Controls is in the process of compiling quotes and the cost could be as much as $15,000.00 to get the system back in operation. This cost can be paid from the Facilities and Maintenance Repair fund. Without the controller Facilities and Maintenance is unable to monitor the temperatures in the buildings, adjust dampers, heating, cooling and view alarms via the software and has lost automatic controls of various functions of the HVAC system. Currently the system is being manipulated with manual controls on a couple key components to maintain comfort in the buildings. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
