HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 24-118-CCBOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Grant County, Washington FIVE COUNTY JOINT RESOLUTION IN THE MATTER OF THE APPOINTMENT OF TRUSTEE TO THE NORTH CENTRAL REGIONAL LIBRARY RESOLUTION No. 24- (I $ -cc WHEREAS, Kathleen Allstot submitted her application for reappointment to represent Grant County on the Board of Trustees of the North Central Regional Library whose term was to end December 31, 2024; and, WHEREAS, the next seven year term that Grant County is to appoint starts January 1, 2025; and, WHEREAS, the County Commissioners, expressing confidence in the ability and qualifications of Kathleen Allstot to represent Grant County on the Board of Trustees of the North Central Regional Library. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY ' RESOLVED THAT the County Commissioners reappoint Kathleen Allstot to represent Grant County for a second seven-year term to begin on January 1, 2025 on the Board of Trustees of the North Central Regional Library 6 compnsed of Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Grant and Okanogan Counties with said term to expire on December 31, 2031. As that date approaches,, I want to indicate my interest in continuing to represent Grant County on the North Central Washington Libraries Board., NCW Libraries has made great strides in improving and supporting the 9 community libraries in this county as well as those in Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan and Ferry counties. We are in our second strategic plan and are proud to be able to help refi-esh & reimagine the physical as well as digital library spaces in all 5 counties. I am interested in continuing to work with the professional leadership of the District and the strong group of trustees helping more the District forward. Currently I any. the chair of the Board for the second time, Retired fi4om Ephrata High School in July of 2014 after 37 years as an educator, I served the final two decades as the EHS teacher -librarian. I was active at the regional and state level in the Washington Library Media Association. In Ephrata, I served on the Ephrata City Council for 20 years, retiring last December. Involvement in schools and community continues to be my focus now that I have a schedule which is mine to organize, Barbara Walters, the current Executive Director of NCW Libraries, has asked me to continue as a trustee. Additionally, I work collegially with Melva Calloway, the second trustee for Grant County, now in her first year on the Board. I look forward to hearing from you at your convenience.
