Dear Commissioners Stone, Jones and Carter,
I
I any writing to request another 6-month extension to June 30, 2025, for SIP Grant No. 2022-04
in the amount of $268,800.00. 1 am continuing to have difficulties finding and applying for
additional grant funding in the amount of $392,400.00 still needed to meet the Port's 20% match
for the estimated $3,306,000.00 Third Well Project. 'Wlhen applying to the EDA for a grant the
Port's'.2. 0% match must be in committed funds. It has been a challen(ye to find grants that can
``stack" to help provide the 20% match required by the EDA.
I any happy to announce the Port has interviews scheduled in early January to select a new
engineering firm, our engineer retired recently, One important criteria in our search is grant
support, to assist in research and writing. I believe this is what we need to move this project
forward in 2025.
I genuinely feel asking you for another 6-month extension until June 30, 202.)'5, is a huge ask.
However, I hope it is possible because without your support this project won't become a reality.
