RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION No. 24- / 3tP -CC
EXECUTION OF AMENDED
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
BETWEEN GRANT COUNTY BY AND
BETWEEN GRANT COUNTY PUBLIC
WORKS AND THE REGIONAL BOARD
OF MAYORS
WHEREAS, Chapter 39.34 RCW, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, permits local
government entities to make the most efficient use of their powers by enabling them to cooperate
with other localities on a basis of mutual advantage, for the purposes of providing services and
facilities in a manner and pursuant to forms of governmental organization that will accord best
with geographic, economic, population and other factors influencing the needs and development
of local communities; and,
WHEREAS, Grant County (County), Washington, a political subdivision of the State of
Washington, by and through Grant County Public Works are vested with authority to enter into
an interlo cal agreement pursuant to Chapter 3 9.3 4 RCW; and,
WHEREAS, the County entered into an agreement with the Regional Board of Mayors
(RBOM), which consist of the Cities of Electric City, Grand Coulee, Coulee Dam, and the Town
of Elsner City, for the purpose of awarding a sub -grant to the RBOM on June 7, 2022; and,
WHEREAS, the county has obtained a Local Solid Waste Financial Assistance grant
from the Washington State Department of Ecology; and,
WHEREAS, the County desires to award a sub -grant to the RBOM for the
reimbursement of costs incurred from the residential used oil recycling and the residential
organic waste diversion programs at the Delano Regional Transfer Station; and,
WHEREAS, the County and the RBOM desire to memorialize the terms and conditions
of the Agreement between the parties regarding provision of a sub -grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Grant County Board of
Commissioners, that the Interlocal Agreement defining the goals of Grant County, Grant County
Public Works and the Regional Board of Mayors be amended.
