SUBJECT.- Purchasing Equipment Not on the 2024 Budget
On October 11 7 2024, Vehicle #0615, a 2010 Ford Escape was damaged in an
accident and declared a total loss. The insurance payout was $8,285.49. This
vehicle was assigned to the Planning Department.
Sefial No. 24A08
Public Works is seeking authorization to purchase a 2025 Ford Maverick as a
replacement vehicle. The cost for the replacement vehicle is $34,735.70. ER&R will
cover the cost. The insurance payout plus what the vehicle has collected in ER&R is
sufficient to purchase this vehicle. The vehicle will be purchased through DES
contract 05916.

which Grant County is a member. In that capacity, your claim for damages has been assigned to
our office for handling.
The cost of repairs to your vehicle exceeds the Actual Cash Value of $7,634.00; therefore, your
vehicle is a total loss. We have determined the value as follows:

Sales Tax $625.99
Transfer Fee $25.50
Full and Final Payment $8,286.49
You have chosen not to keep the vehicle salvage. Please sign and date your vehicle title and the
mileage statement then provide them to the salvage company upon pick up.
Enclosed is a check from WCRG for $8,285.49, in accordance with our agreed settlement. With the
issuance of this check, we will consider this matter closed.
