RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RESOLUTION No. 24- /Z�` -CC
EXECUTION OF INTERLOCAL
AGREEMENT BETWEEN GRANT
COUNTY AND CHELAN COUNTY FOR
JUVENILE DETENTION SERVICES
WHEREAS, Chapter 34.39 RCW, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, permits local
government entities to make the most efficient use of their powers by enabling them to cooperate
with other localities on a basis of mutual advantage, for the purposes of providing services and
facilities in a manner and pursuant to forms of governmental organization that will accord best
with geographic, economic, population and other factors influencing the needs and development
of local communities; and
WHEREAS, Chelan County is authorized pursuant to Chapter 39.34 RCW to enter into
interlocal agreements; and
WHEREAS, Grant County, Washington is vested with authority to enter into an
interlocal agreement pursuant to Chapter 39.34 RCW; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of this Interlocal Agreement is to set forth the terms and
conditions under which Chelan County shall provide juvenile detention services for juveniles
under the jurisdiction of Grant County Juvenile Court, a department of Grant County Superior
Court; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of Grant County and Chelan County to enter into an
interlocal agreement for Juvenile Detention Services.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the attached Interlocal Agreement
between Grant County and Chelan County for Juvenile Detention Services be approved.
