Subject: Reappointment of Kathleen Allstot to the NCW Libraries Board.
Good Afternoon Barbara,
The seven year term as Grant County Representative to the NCW Libraries Board which
KKathleen Al|stotwas appointed to in October of2O17 comes to an end on December 31st of this
year. Ms. AUstot has expressed a willingness to be reappointed to a second seven year term which
would begin on January 1st of 2025 and end on December 31st of 2031.
We have several months before this matter would need to be resolved, but knowing that it will,
require a joint resolution of all five counties, I would like to get it on your radar early.
I've attached a reappointment resolution template we've used in the past, but feel free to use
whatever makes sense for the commissioners.
Thanks!

Mr. Jones, Ms. Carter, Mr. Stone and Mr. Burgess:
In October 2017 the Board of County Commissioners appointed me as one of the
two Grant County representatives to the North Central Regional Library Board of
Trustees for a term ending December 31, 2024. As that date approaches, I want to
indicate my interest in continuing to represent Grant County on the North Central
Washington Libraries Board.
NCW Libraries has made great strides in improving and supporting the 9
community libraries in this county as well as those in Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan
and Ferry counties. We are in our second strategic plan and are proud to be able to
help refresh & reimagine the physical as well as digital library spaces in all 5
counties. I am interested in continuing to work with the professional leadership of
the District and the strong group of trustees helping move the District forward.
Currently I am the chair of the Board for the second time.
Retired from Ephrata High School in July of 2014 after 37 years as an educator, I
served the final two decades as the EHS teacher -librarian. I was active at the
regional and state level in the Washington Library Media Association. In Ephrata,
I served on the Ephrata City Council for 20 years, retiring last December.
Involvement in schools and community continues to be my focus now that I have a
schedule which is mine to organize.
Barbara Walters, the current Executive Director of NCW Libraries, has asked me
to continue as a trustee. Additionally, I work collegially with Melva Calloway, the
second trustee for Grant County, now in her first year on the Board.
I look forward to hearing from you at your convenience.
Sincerely,
Kathleen Allstot
