For 40 years, Crossroads Resource Center, a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization has provided
pregnancy support and parenting education for pregnant women and their families in Grant
County. Since its inception, it has been a safe place where women can get assistance
during a time fitted with uncertainty. In a caring, compassionate, and nonjudgementaL
atmosphere, Crossroads walks with clients through pregnancy and provides parenting
programs that offer education for new parents including toots, tips, and a time to gain
confidence. Crossroads also has a Baby Boutique, a store for first-time moms enrolled in
the "Earn White You Learn" parenting program. Participants usually meet one-on-one with
a parenting counselor and earn `points' which turn into `Baby Bucks' in the boutique. Here
they Learn to be wise shoppers for baby clothing, supplies, diapers, furniture, handmade
quilts, etc. In 2019 new heights were reached as Crossroads went medical with its OB
Ultrasound Machine. Currently, the FREE and confidential services provided are the
following: pregnancy testing, Limited OB Ultrasound confirmation, options counseling,
nursing staff, childbirth and parenting classes, community referrals, post -abortion
help, baby clothing, diapers, Lactation counseling, STI information and testing,
abstinence education, post-partum assistance, Last but not Least, a 24-hour crisis
Line.
In 2013, a satellite office was added in Ephrata. Since then, the office has outgrown its
space and has been Looking for a good Location. We now have an opportunity to move to a
Larger space that needs renovation to allow us to advance our mission. The 2,000-square-
foot center would include a Lobby, examination room, ADA bathroom, consultation room,
Baby Boutique, sorting room, staff offices, nurses station, and storage area. We will be
partnering with His Helping Hands to offer a complete resource center in the heart of Grant
County that will serve rural residents.
Our services are greatly needed, utilized, and impact Lives. As a non-profit, we rely on
charitable donations and would greatly benefit from this ARPA grant. It would be difficult for
us to raise the funds and complete the renovation in a timely fashion. Like most nonprofits,
our organization was affected by COVID-1 9. We saw an increase in our services and Less
revenue and ability to raise funds. This year alone, we have served 340 clients and close to
20,000 since 2008. Our mission is to provide evidence -based medical and educational
services along with practical resources for Columbia Basin families in a respectful and
caring environment.
Our organization)s needs fall under Nonprofits and Social Services in the Final Rule. The
funding would assist Grant County citizens and allow Crossroads to elevate client services
in a center that meets their needs. Thank you for considering our grant.
