The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing to consider the request from Technology
Services to surplus and dispose of miscellaneous items in Technology Services custody from Renew and
Grant County Public Works. Items will be disposed of through recycling or direct disposal through
Consolidated Disposal Services, Inc. (CDSI).
Joe Carter, Assistant Director of Technology Services gave a brief summary of their request. Technology
Services (TS) has a list of items that have been transferred into their custody by Public Works and
Renew, which are taking up space.
Commissioner Stone asked if TS ever donates items to anyone. Joe replied that they can donate items to
tax -funded entities. Items are only recycled or disposed of if there were no entities that would benefit
from them. Commissioner Carter asked if the memory is removed from the items. Joe replies that yes,
all items are wiped before being sent away for recycling or direct disposal.
A motion was made by Commissioner Jones, seconded by Commissioner Stone, to close the public
comment portion of the hearing. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by
Commissioner Stone to approve the surplus as presented. Commissioner Jones seconded and the
motion passed unanimously. The hearing adjourned. (Resolution 24-100-CC)
