OFFENDER/DIVERSION: Currently, all civil and criminal proceedings are conducted through WebEx, with in -person court hearings exclusively reserved for Dispositions and Trials. Within the Offender Unit, there are currently 250 cases, 165 of which fall under the category of Diversion. ii. TRUANCY: Currently, there are 146 active petitions with a total of 202 stays in effect. Throughout the current school year, 271 stays have been filed, 87 stays have been lifted, and 74 cases of contempt of court have been filed. Additionally, there are 85 extended stays, and 257 cases have been dismissed this school year. DEPENDENCY: The dependency unit is conducting regular docket hearings, offering the flexibility of participation through WebEx or in person. As of now, our dependency unit manages a total of 153 active cases. Among these, 110 are assigned to staff, 38 cases are delegated to volunteers, and 5 cases are actively monitored. The monitored cases, while still active, involve individuals with legal representation, eliminating the necessity for a Guardian ad Litem (GAL). 4) Chelan: I maintain bi-weekly meetings with Chelan County to collaboratively address any emerging issues. I have recently received the new proposed contract from Chelan County and am currently reviewing it. I will forward it to Rebekah for her approval before placing it on the consent agenda. The contract will be submitted shortly. 5) Administration: Before my vacation, we completed the interview process for the Family & Juvenile Court Coordinator position. I extended an offer to a highly qualified candidate who has accepted. She has previous experience as a Guardian ad Litem and as a Family Functional Therapist, making her well- versed in the dependency court process and familiar with all stakeholders. Her first day will be September 3rd. Our GALs participated at the Grant County Fairgrounds with a booth to recruit potential volunteers, and they successfully identified 15 interested candidates. 6) Needs of the Department: In the past two months, one of our older county vehicles was broken into. As a result, I requested assistance from IT to provide a quote for outdoor security cameras, which I plan to install at the Moses Lake office.
