Vacation Petition of Fritz Farms Road and Right -of -Way

The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing to consider the petition that was received to
vacate of a portion of V.5 SE roadlog 26450 BMP 0.32 to EMP 0.62 north of 2.7 SE Section 14 T18N
R30EWM, also called Fritz Farms.
Dave Bren, County Engineer gave a brief description of the request. He used Google Maps to show the
location of the road and right-of-way requesting the vacation. Road V.5 continues straight past Fritz
Farms. The petition asks that the road north of the intersection at the property entrance be vacated.
The only purpose that this section of the road serves is as a driveway to Fritz Farms. Dave presented his

Overview:
The Board of County Commissioners has received a petition to vacate portions of the Road V.5-SE
right-of-way that are North of the Road W-SE intersection.
Notice of Hearing:
A notice of hearing resolution was made on July 16th, 2024. The Notice of Hearing was published
in the County Official Newspaper and posted at the physical site in compliance with RCW
36.87.050.
County Staff Support:
The County right-of-way Staff have reviewed the owners petition documents, and found the
petition documents to be complete, and has processed the petition for the Board of County
Commissioners consideration.
County Engineer's Report and Recommendation:
The County Road Engineer has found that the rights -of -way proposed for vacation and
abandonment are not useful and the public will be benefited by their vacation. The County
Engineer is in support of the proposed vacation.
There are no other public use purposes (public access property or access for hunting) for this road. All
other parcels are owned by the same owner.
A motion was made by Commissioner Jones, seconded by Commissioner Stone, to close the public
comment portion of the hearing. The motion passed unanimously. A motion was made by
Commissioner Stone to approve the vacation petition as presented. Commissioner Jones seconded and
the motion passed unanimously. The hearing adjourned. (Resolution No. 24-071-CC)
