We recognize the significant benefits this project will bring to our community and the :environment. Desert Aire is a community with 1,600 homes centered on a golf course airport, wit g rport, and marina within the Columbia Basin Region. This project proposes to install both D ' p p C fast charging and Level 2 charging for the public and residents of the community. The addition ' y on of EV charging stations will further enhance the appeal of the area, makingit a more accessible ' e and convenient location for the growing number of EV owners. It aligns with the increasing g asing global shift towards sustainable transportation and reflects our communities' commitment to environmental stewardship. Moreover, the proposed locations for the charging stations are strategically ' g y positioned less than one mile from a heavily traveled corridor (SR -243) in Washington. This proximity will not only e EV drivers serve local EV owners but also encourage vers traveling. SR -243 through the county to stop in Desert Aire. Such a stopover provides an excellent opportunity for ' local businesses pp Y visitors to explore our sinesses and attractions, potentially boosting the local economy. y The installation of an EV charging station at our shopping center is no ' . .. ' pp g t dust about providing a new amenity, its a forward-looking step that positions Desert Aire as a progressive and p ' environmentally conscious community. It demonstrates our commitment' to reducing carbon Danny E. Stone District 1 Rob Jones District 2 Cindy Carter District 3 "To MEET CURRENT AND FUTURE NEEDS, SERVING TOGETHER WITH PUBLIC AND PRIVATE ENTITIES9 WHILE FOSTERING A RESPECTFUL AND SUCCESSFUL WORK ENVIRONMENT." emissions and promoting renewable energy sources, aligning with broader efforts to combat climate change. We are excited about the potential of this project and strongly believe in its positive impact on p our community. We are happy to provide any further support needed to bring this project to fruition. Please feel free to contact our office at 509-754-2011 extension 2901 with any questions you may have. Good morning, Energy Northwest is preparing to submit a Charging Fueling and Infrastructure federal grant application in partnership with Flo, Colvico, and JSA Civil for $9.3M in funding to install 10 new EV charging sites in the Columbia Basin, filling a regional gap in insufficient infrastructure. Here's a link to the grant for your reference. I'm emailing to gauge your interest in providing a letter of support from Grant County for our project.
