OFFENDER/DIVERSION: Currently, all civil and criminal proceedings are conducted through WebEx, with in-person court hearings exclusively reserved for Dispositions and Trials. In the Offender unit, there are currently 280 cases, with 186 of them falling under the category of Diversion. ii. TRUANCY: Presently, we have 240 active petitions, with a total of 255 stays in effect. Throughout the current school year, 181 stays have been filed, 87 stays have been lifted, and 70 cases of contempt of court have been filed. Additionally, there are 80 extended stays, and 176 cases have been dismissed this school year. DEPENDENCY: The dependency unit is conducting regular docket hearings, offering the flexibility of participation through WebEx or in person. As of now, our dependency unit manages a total of 165 active cases. Among these, 115 are assigned to staff, 38 cases are delegated to volunteers, and 12 cases are actively monitored. The monitored cases, while still active, involve individuals with legal representation, eliminating the necessity for a Guardian ad Litem (GAL). 4) Chelan: I maintain bi-weekly meetings with Chelan to collaboratively address any emerging issues. 5) Administration: We intend to seek approval from the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) for a new position. Gina will be presenting this proposal during the PMRT process for the Family & Juvenile Court Coordinator role. The funding for this position will be fully provided by the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC). We anticipate that this position will significantly contribute to enhancing dependency court operations and improving case outcomes for children and families involved in child welfare matters. 6) Needs of the Department: We've decided to upgrade the flooring in our courtroom due to the deteriorating condition of the carpet. Despite attempts to deep clean it, the carpet's prolonged lack of maintenance made it necessary to opt for new flooring. After careful consideration, we've chosen Vinyl Plank Flooring as a suitable alternative, which also falls within our budget constraints.
