RE: Request for Extension of SIP Funding 2021-04
Dear Grant County,
The Port of Warden (Grant County Port District No. 8) is writing to you to request an extension
of SIP grant funds (2021-04) to May 18, 2025.
The Port is continuing to work with the City of Warden and Columbia Basin Railroad as well as
rail and road engineers to find a suitable industrial road route on the south side of Warden that
meets City requirements but also does not adversely impact the railroad's ability to bring in unit
trains into Warden.
Columbia Basin Railroad has granted the Port of Warden a crossing going south on Wilson
Avenue to Taft Avenue. I have attached a map of the area where the road will cross the tracks.
This project is complicated and is unfortunately taking more time than originally anticipated. As
such, the Port hopes the above explanation is helpful and we thankyou for your understanding
and patience and for your consideration of the request for an extension of the SIP Funds 2021-
04.
Sincerely,
71
Pat Millard
