Ephrata, WA 98823 publicworks@grantcountywa gov To: Honorable Board of County Commissioners Grant County From: Samuel Castro Public Works Director Date: March 18th, 2024 Serial No. 24.020 Re: Request to Purchase Sheriff vehicles, not on the 2024 replacement schedule We respectfully request to purchase three (3) pursuit -rated SUVs for the Grant County Sheriffs Department. These vehicles will replace #7076, #7152, and #7153 which were involved in accidents and declared total losses. These vehicles were not part of the 2024 replacement schedule. The total replacement cost of the three (3) cars is $182,666.42. Two (2) Pursuit -Rated BMW motorcycles were budgeted and approved for 2024. The cost was $78,252.12. The Sheriffs Department has agreed to forgo the two motorcycles in favor of replacing the three patrol cars. Doing so has reduced the requested amount to $104,414.30. The funds will be coming out of the ER&R budget. These vehicles will be delivered and invoiced in 2024. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
