Request Summary:
The department has requested an exception to the annual leave maximum for the above -referenced
employee.
Grant County policy allows for exceptions provided that the employee's request to take annual leave
has been made and denied by the Elected Official or Department Head, based on business necessity.
HR Director Recommendation:
In my role overseeing compensation, benefits and employee
programs for Grant County, I have reviewed the request
(including any documentation available).

In response to the department's operational requirements, Decorah Anderson -Cook unable to utilize
her annual leave hours, exceeding the annual accrual limit of 24o hours by Twenty -Four (24) hours.
As the Director of HR, in accordance with County Policy 8 01.5, I am formally seeking approval from
the Board to make an exception and allow the surplus annual leave hours to carry over into the year
2024.
