LCCD is the fiscal sponsor the Columbia Basin Sustainable Water Coalition (CBSWC), a coalition of stakeholders and supporters with a vision to protect and maintain a water supply for future generations of the Columbia Basin. The CBSWC's mission is to address potable groundwater supply issues by creating locally -driven recommendations that influence water management and policy that will direct resources to create sustainable water solutions. The CBSWC represents Group A & B Water systems in Franklin, Lincoln, Adams, and Grant (FLAG) counties. The Coalition seeks to develop resources that Group A & B water systems can use to build their own resiliency in the face of declining groundwater and increased drought conditions in the FLAG counties, while seeking regional support and solutions. The CBSWC is seeking funding for drought preparedness planning that will cover the FLAG counties in order to create a regional and coordinated approach for the benefit of all water systems in the affected area. This plan will help Group A & B systems begin to plan for drought preparedness, without using their limited resources to take on the planning process themselves. The CBSWC seeks to develop a plan that Group A & B water systems can adopt as their own, making them eligible for funding sources and more resilient. Danny E.
