Benefits of Fairgrounds
• $12-$14 million impact to the County (This number is likely low and I will ask for an update to
the Economic Impact in 2025.)
• Creating an identify in the Equestrian World (Largest facility in the State)
• Developing youth through 4H, FFA and Grange by instilling skills and traits corresponding to
these organizations.
• Creates a centric location for farmers around the County.
• Large facility has numerous opportunities for additional revenue and impact to the County.
• $1 million dollar livestock auction benefiting County youth
• Unique facility to host various events, celebratory, youth, livestock, animal, etc.
• Allows us to create unique relationships with farmer, business, and education organizations.
• Potential to bring more events and people to the County through events.
Overview of the facility (Look at overhead shots so we understand all areas)
Brainstorm ideas for parks and county (No limits brainstorming)
• Post it notes for all involved
• Boards for Fairgrounds, other county locations, events, etc (Get agreement on what the
categories should be)
• Combine like ideas
• Prioritize ideas (Each person puts a 1, 2, or 3 on each item, lowest numbers are highest priority)
New event venues
• Event facility or wedding Barn on bluff above Cascade Valley
• Hotel through public/private partnership
• Youth sports facilities in South Field
• Development of additional parks in the County
• Paxson frontage development
• Cattle holding facilities for additional equestrian events
Looking at cost vs benefit
• Event facility will create substantial revenue
• Hotel through public/private partnership could be a money generator
• Youth sports facilities in South Field will not bring much in revenue but create substantial good
will.
• Development of additional parks in the County
• Paxson frontage development —what could we do to make money?
• Cattle holding facilities for additional equestrian events
• Investment in fair facilities creates minimal cost benefit but creates substantial good will.
