DATE OF ACTION: °x APPROVE: DENIED ABSTAIN D1: D2: D3: 1 DEFERRED OR CONTINUED TO: Board of County Commissioners Re: Request to proceed: Museum Mini Split Dear BOCC, Grant County Facilities & Maintenance POBox 37 Ephrata WA 98823 (509) 754-2011 Ext -3272 December 22, 2023 The Grant County Historical Society requested a means to climate control the new research room. Currently, there is not a HVAC system in this area in which Journal papers, books and papers are stored and available for review. A 2 -ton, high heat, 20 seer rating or higher ductless mini split system was recommended in conversations with HVAC contractors. An informal request for bids was sent out December 7th, 2023, to contractors registered in the MRSC roster and three of those contractors, Apollo Mechanical, Basin Refrigeration and MacDonald Miller, responded with bids according to the terms of the RFB. Basin Refrigeration responded with the lowest bid with a cost of $5320.00. With tax the total will be $5766.89. Bid record sheet is attached. Therefore, I am requesting on behalf of the Grant County Historical Society that the Grant County Board of Commissioner's please approve this project. The project would be funded from the Museum Programmed Maintenance Funds 304.001.00.0000.594756004. Once permission to proceed has been given to Basin Refrigeration the unit should be available to install in about two weeks. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
