Week of October 15,1990
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at
9:00 a.m. by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. Commissioner Chamberlain
and Commissioner Chandler were in attendance with the Clerk of the
Board. Commissioner Goodwin was out of town.
The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding
session.
The Commissioners approved the request for transfer in the
Grant County Museum Department in the amount of $1,300.
The Commissioners accepted the resignation of Donald Martin
from the Planning Commission and the Grant County Housing Authority
due to his moving from the area.
Chairman Chamberlain was authorized to sign the Special
Occasion Liquor License of Mattawa Area Chamber of Commerce for
November 10,1990 at the Wahluke Produce, Storage Area in
Mattawa,WA.
The Commissioners sent a letter to the law firm of Bricklin &
Gendler regarding their letter on the Rabanco site.
The Commissioners set Public Meetings regarding the following
Planning Commission information:
1. Zone Change request by D & L Foundry -Public Meeting will be
held October 30,1990 at 2:00 p.m.
2. Vacation of lots 57 and 58 from the Plat of Desert Aire
Division "B" -Public Meeting will be held October 30,1990 at 2:30
p.m.
3. Preliminary Plat of Wild Goose Tracts proposed by Bob
Holloway and Loren Grigg will be held October 30,1990 at 3:00 p.m.
A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by
Commissioner Chandler that Resolution Number 90 -109 -CC resolving
that Betty Brueske is no longer a designated mental health
professional for Grant County be passed. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by
Commissioner Chandler that Resolution Number 90 -110 -CC resolving
that Joan E. Hayes is no longer a designated mental health
professional for Grant County be passed. The motion carried.
As there was no further business the session was continued
until October 16,1990.
October 16,1990
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the
Commissioners in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners were notified by the County Treasurer of a
sales tax distribution correction in the amount of $35,000
additional revenue annually to Grant County.
The Commissioners approved a salary increase for Tina Lambert
of the Grant County Emergency Management Department to $1300 per
month effective October 1,1990.
The Commissioners approved changes in personnel status in the
Prosecuting Attorney's Office that affect Penny Kardong, Jeri
Hinen, Marilyn Foltz and Terri Yeager.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Greg Grammer of the
Juvenile Department at 80% of the salary for the Assistant
Administrator position to replace Bill Busse effective October
1,1990.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Cheryl Key of the
Communications Department at $1435.50 per month effective October
15,1990.
The Commissioners allowed Bill Bailey of the Grant County Fair
Department to carry over 8 vacation days from the 1989 year.
The Commissioners held a Public Hearing regarding vacating
certain County roads. A motion was made by Commissioner Chandler
and seconded by Commissioner Goodwin that Resolution Number 90 -111 -
CC vacating certain County road rights-of-way be passed. The
motion carried.
A Public Hearing was held and a motion was made by
Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by Commissioner Chandler that
Resolution Number 90 -112 -CC authorizing an appropriation and
expenditure of funds for the Tourism Fund #114, Department #156 in
the amount of $15,000 be passed. The motion carried.
A Public Hearing was held and a motion was made by
Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by Commissioner Chandler that
Resolution Number 90 -113 -CC authorizing an appropriation and
expenditure of funds for the Current Expense Fund #001, Sheriff
Department #114 in the amount of $147,844 be passed. The motion
carried.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for
payment those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors
Office 10/15/90 in the total amount of $168,860.02.
The Commissioners met with various Department Heads and
Elected Officials regarding matters of mutual concern.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned
until October 22,1990.
