Week of January 8,1990
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m.
by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. All of the Commissioners were in attendance
with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding session.
The Commissioners notified the Auditors Office of a 3% salary increase
for various departments and employees effective January 1,1990.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Carol L. Spurrier of the
Juvenile Court Department at $1129.60 per month effective Janaury 1,1990.
The Commissioners approved out of state travel for Dorene Bendickson
of the Grant County Mental Health Department to attend a workshop in
Oregon.
The Commissioners approved the purchase of a typwriter for the
Coroner's Office.
The Commissioners approved the salary increase of Merrilou Gilmore
of the District Court Office to $1318 per month effective PHbruary 111990.
The Commissioners approved the Petition for Property Tax Refund for
Shirley Holt, #89-38 in the amount of $433.84 and #89-39 in the amount of
$425.06.
Chairman Chamberlain was authorized to sign the Liquor License
application of Fuller Dry Falls Mini Mart.
The Commissioners received notice from Marsha Crawford that she
would be resigning from the Dispatch Center sometime in February
or March 1990.
The Commissioners notified the Auditors Office that the Longevity
rate for the 1990 year will be $8.69.
A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by Commis-
sioner Chandler that Resolution Number 90 -2 -CC designating Lisa Cordova
as a Mental Health Professional be passed. The motion carried.
The Commissioners met with various Elected Officials and Depart-
ment Heads regarding matters of mutual concern.
As there was no further business the session was continued until
January 9,1990.
January 9,1990
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commis-
sioners were in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners appointed Danny Cox of Warden to serve on the
CPN Committee.
The Commissioners appointed Jack Patrick to a position on the
Grant County Board of Adjustment.
The Commissioners gave permission for Mosquito District #1 to operate
in the airspace over Grant County within the boundaries of the Grant County
Mosquito Control District #1 for the purpose of mosquito abatement.
The Commissioners notified the Department of Ecology that they had
decided to be the Lead Local Government on the Rabanco Incinerator site
located in Grant County.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Department regarding
Resolution -CRP's, Load Restrictions, SWAC-Discussion, 10:00 a.m. Bid
Opening, Bridge No. 157, Stratford, Bridge No. 399,'A' SW.
A motion was made by Commissioner Chandler and seconded by Commis-
sioner Goodwin that Resolution Number 90 -3 -CC in the matter of initiating
county road projects and assigning CRP Numbers be passed. The motion
carried.
The Commissioners held a bid opening regarding bridge #157 and #399.
A motion was made by Commissioner Chandler and seconded by Commissioner
Goodwin that the bids be referred to the Public Works Department for their
recommendations.
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Voucher Approval 412-1
throu 12-141 in the total amount of $378,140.46.
The Commissioners set Public Meetings regarding the following matters
referred to them from the Planning Commission:
Proposed Plat Vacation of Desert Aire, Division A at 11:30 a.m. on
January 23,1990.
Proposed vacation of roads and lots within the plat of Trinidad on
January 23,1990 at 1:30 p.m.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for pay-
ment those vouchers included in the lists filed in the Auditors Office
1/9/90 in the total amounts of $27,388.59, $103,173.37, and $1,900.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until
January 16,1990.
