Week of April 9,1990
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m.
by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. All of the Commissioners were in attendance
with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding session.
The Commissioners notified the Auditor's Office of salary increases
for various Elected Officials and Department Heads.
The Commissioners approved supplemental budget plans for the Building/
Fire Marshal's Office Department #001-116 and the Emergency Services Office
Department 4102-144, which include staffing level changes. Leonard Fluno
is moved to full time status in the Building/Fire Marshal's budget. Tina
Lambert will fill a full time position in the Emergency Services Department.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Prosecuting Attorneys
Office to accept collect calls from out-of-state witnesses.
Chairman Chamberlain was authorized to sign the Notice of Separation
or Work Interruption of Alvena F. Johnson of the District Court Department
effective April 6,1990.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Joy N. Ricks of the Fair
Office at 90% of $1300 per month effective April 1,1990.
The Commis8ioners notified the Department of Ecology that they would
not complete the ground water monitoring wells at the closed I-90 Landfill
at this time.
The Commissioners notified Harry Burcalow of the Cooperative Extension
Department that they were recommending Ed Forster for re -appointment as
the Grant/Adams Cooperative Extension Chairman.
The Commissioners were notified by the Grant County Democratic Central
Committee that their slate of three candidates for the appointment to
fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Paul Klasen, Jr. as Grant
County Prosecutor were Jerry Hamley, Ken Jorgensen, and Monty Hormel.
The Commissioners appointed Donald Martin to a position of the Grant
County Housing Authority to replace Bill Gould.
The Commissioners appointed LaRain Hudson to a position on the North
Central Regional Library Board.
The Commissioners signed a law enforcement agreement for the 1990 year
with the Town of Hartline.
The Commissioners signed a Conditional Use Permit regarding Shoreline
Management for Myrtle Miller for a new proposal for bulkhead mitigation.
The Commissioners signed a lease with Jon Hatt on the 1012 Ivy Street
Building.
The Commissioners interviewed Jerry Hamley and Monty Hormel for the
Prosecuting Attorney Position.
The Commissioners met with various Department Heads and Elected Officials
regarding matters of mutual concern.
As there was no further business the session was continued until
April 10,1990.
April 10,1990
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners
in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Department regarding
Plat Road Requirements -O'Sullivan Shores, Project Agreements -Bridge No.
116, Long Lake, Bridge No. 240, '6' SE, 10:30 Public Hearing Rd. Vacation,
Borrow Agreement -Frank Sanford, Annual CRAB Certification, Road Establish-
ment Tyndall Road -Set Hearing.
A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by Commis-
sioner Chandler that Resolution Number 90 -25 -CC in the matter of establish-
ing a certain County Road named Tyndall Road be passed. The motion carried.
Public Hearing will be held May 1,1990 at 10:00 a.m.
A Public Hearing was held regarding the vacation of certain County
Roads in the vicinity of George. After some discussion from people in
the area and representatives from the Town of George a motion was made
by Commissioner Chamberlain and seconded by Commissioner Goodwin that
the matter be continued until April 24th at 10:00 a.m. to give the Town
of George time to study the matter and make recommendations. The motion
carried.
The Commissioners signed a Borrow Source Agreement with Frank Sanford
regarding gravel.
The Commissioners signed Public Works Claims Fund Voucher Approval
#3-1 through 3-185 in the total amount of $758,760.12 and #3-1 through
3-2 in the total amount of $105,116.17.
The Commissioners sent a letter to Mr. and Mrs. Lovell Robbins regarding
the estimated costs of the road project they requested.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers filed in the Auditors Office 4/10/90 in the total amount
of $336,568.16.
The Commissioners approved the request of the County Auditor to upgrade
the computer system to include document recording. The Auditor recommended
option number 3 and the Commissioners approved that option.
A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by Commissioner
Chandler that Resolution Number 90 -26 -CC relating to the establishment
of a petty cash/revovling fund for the Prosecuting Attorney's Victim -
Witness Program, be passed. The motion carried.
The Commissioners met with Ron Rowley of GTE regarding Cable T.V.
The Commissioners interviewed Ken Jorgensen for the Prosecuting
Attorney position.
As there was no further business
to Vantage to meet with the Kittitas
was adjourned until April 16,1990.
