Week of July 2,1990
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m.
by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. All of the Commissioners were in attendance
with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding session.
The Commissioners approved the appoint of Elvin L. Kulp as interim
county chairman of the Cooperative Extension Department due to the
resignation of Edward Forster. Mr. Kulp will be appointed effective
July 1,1990.
Chairman Chamberlain was authorized to sign the Notice of Separation
or work interruption of Marlo Reyna of the Juvenile Department effective
June 29,1990.
The Commissioners approved the hiring of Michele Haughton of the
Grant County Building Department for a temporary position for the
period of July 2 through November 16,1990 at the rate of $7.00 per
hour.
The Commissioners received the resignation of Tom Dagnon from the
Grant County Fair Board.
The Commissioners appointed Ray Garcia and Lois Hastings to positions
on the Grant County Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Board.
The Commissioners designated Gary Chandler to attend a meeting
of the executives of the major domestic and international airlines
serving the Seattle -Tacoma International Airport hosted by Senator
Mike Patrick and Representative Roy Ferguson on July 11,1990. This
meeting will be concerning the proposed Northwest Regional International
Airport at Moses Lake including the Inland Empire/Puget Sound Super -
Speed Interconnect(Mag/Lev Train).
The Commissioners appointed Harry Yamamoto Jr. to serve on the
Adams County CPN Committee.
The Commissioners set a Public Hearing for July 17,1990 at 2:00 p.m.
regarding the proposed Washington State Development Loan Fund Project
for the Tritech Enterprises,Inc.
The Commissioners received a Notice of Claim on Bond and Retainage
on CRP 89-7 Bridge 4157 Stratford, A -SE Contract 1150/1151 from Central
Washington Asphalt,Inc. The matter was referred to the Public Works
Department.
A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by Commis-
sioner Chandler that Resolution Number 90 -57 -CC in the matter of
unredeemed warrants be passed. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by Commis-
sioner Chandler that Resolution Number 90 -58 -CC in the matter of dec-
laring county equipment surplus be passed. Public Hearing will be
held July 24,1990 at 1:30 p.m.
The Commissioners signed a Determination of Non -Significance re-
garding the proposal of gravel extraction and processing on approx-
imately 10 acres adjacent to an existing pitsite for the Department
of Natural Resourses.
The Commissioners signed the warrants list #39644 thru 40023
for the month of June.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office
7/2/90 in the total amount of $215,291.28.
The Commissioners met with various Elected Officials and Department
Heads regarding matters of mutual concern.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until
July 9,1990 as the Commissioners had a meeting in Moses Lake with the
Port Commissioners on July 3.
