Week of July 23,1990
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m.
by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. All of the Commissioners were in attendance
with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding session.
The Commissioners approved the request for an additional FTE Chemical
Dependency Counselor for the Alcohol and Drug Center.
The Commissioners approved the request from the Grant County Alcohol
and Drug Center to amend their 1990 budget in the amount of $7,749 for the
purchase of a copy machine.
The Commistioners approved the salary increase of Carol L. Spurrier
of the Juvenile Department to $1270.80 per month effective July 1,1990.
The Commissioners received a request from the Grant County Sheriff
to increase his budget by $7,200 in reference to the Deputy Keith Carlile
settlement. The Commissioners advised the Sheriff to delay any increase
until nearer the end of the year.
The Commissioners received a request by the County Clerk for a new
copy machine and funds for new NCR forms for Domestic Violence and Anti -
Harassment reports. The Commissioners approved the requests but indicated
that they would be handled after August 1,1990.
The Commissioners sent a letter to Governor Garder regarding the problem
of depletion of the warm water fishery in Grant County.
Chairman Chamberlain was authorized to sign a Grant County Fixed
Nuclear Facility Contract with the Department of Community Development,
Contract Number 1-91-61005.
Chairman Chamberlain was authorized to sign the order for re -sale of
tax title property requested by Paul Larsen.
The Commissioners received Order No. DE 90-E714 from the Department
of Ecology regarding the I-90 Landfill. The matter was referred to the
Prosecuting Attorney for his advice.
The Commissioners met with various Department Heads and Elected
Officials regarding matters of mutual connern.
As there was no further business the session was continued until
July 24,1990.

The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with all of the Commissioners
in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Director regarding a
letter to the Town of George, Litter Grant, Water Request -Concerts,
Cost -Share Request -'25' SW.
The Commissioners sent a letter to the Town of George regarding
their request for the use of county road right of way for utility pur-
poses.
The Commissioners received notification from the Public Works
Director that the following projects have been completed in accord-
ance with federal aid standards:
CRP 88-8, 'S' NW RR Xing
CRP 88-9, '0' NW RR Xing
CRP 88-10, 'J' NW RR Xing
Crp 88-11, Adams Road RR Xing
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Vouchers Approval
X67-1 through 7-2 in the total amount of $13,109.98.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office 7/23/90
in the total amount of $129,055.50.
The Commissioners received several letters regarding opposition to
an additional property tax for operating expenses of the Soil Conservation
District Office.
The Commissioners sent a letter to the Rabanco Company regarding the
lease they have with Grant County.
A motion was made by Commissioner Goodwin and seconded by Commissioner
Chandler that Resolution Number 90 -62 -CC establishing new fees for boarding
prisoners in the Grant County Jail be passed. The motion carried.
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Payroll Journal for the month
of July in the total amount of $171;,712.07.
A Public Hearing was held and a motion was made by Commissioner Chandler
and seconded by Commissioner Goodwin that Resolution Number 90 -63 -CC in the
matter of declaring County equipment surplus regarding an IBM Model 8809
Tape Drive, Feature 47960 be passed. The motion carried.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until
July 30,1990.
