Week of August 13,1990
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order at 9:00 a.m.
by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. All of the Commissioners were in attendance
with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding session.
The Commissioners approved the request by the Grant County Mental
Health Office to rent the downstairs space in the building they are
presently using beginning September 1,1990 for the amount of $2000 per
month, with the understanding that they will pursue the option of
building a new building which would meet their needs at some future
time.
The Commisisoners approved the salary increase of Jeneen Rothstein
of the Extension Department to $1403 per month effective September 1,1990.
The Commissioners received notification from the Grant County Sheriff
that he was against the issuance of liquor license for the sale of wine at
the Grant County Fair. The Commissioners disapproved the request by the
Grant County Fair Association for a liquor license on August 15,16,17,18,
and 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day. They did approve the
Grant County Fair Special Occasion license for August 16,1990 from
6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The Commissioners received a comment from the Department of Ecology
on the determination of nonsignificance for the controlled atmosphere
storage facility proposed by Green Acres Orchard. The matter was referred
to the Planning Director.
The Commissioners received notification from the Department of Ecology
that Grant County should notify DOE by letter of their decision to go
forward with the process of serving as the lead local government for
the State Citizen Proponent Negotiations Committee on the incinerator
application of Rabanco.
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Claims Fund Voucher Approval
#7-1 through #7-180 in the total amount of $750,630.73.
As of this date the board by a majority vote does approve for payment
those vouchers included in the list filed in -.the Auditors Office 8/14/90
in the total amount of $242,140.19.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve for pay-
ment those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors Office
8/8/90 in the total amount of $19,308.00.
The Commissioners met with various Department Heads, Elected Officials,
and the public regarding matters of mutual concern.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned until
August 20,1990 since the Commissioners are spending the remainder of
the week at the Grant County Fair.
