Week of April 24,1989
The Grant County Commissioners session was called to order
at 9:00 a.m. by Chairman Glenn Chamberlain. All of the Commissioners
were in attendance with the Clerk of the Board.
The Commissioners approved the minutes of the preceeding
session.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Donna Skeesick of
the Mental Health Department at 90% of the control point for the positon
of 3/4 time Volunteers Coordinator.
The Commissioners approved the project proposed by Grant
County Community Action Council to receive funds from the HUD Emergency
Shelter Grants Program.
Chairman Chamberlain was authorized to sign a Notice of
Separation or work interuption for Mary A. Pickett of the District
Court Department effective April 18,1989.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Donna K. Greer of
the District Court Department at $5.00 per hour effective April 5,1989.
Y The Commissioners approved the salary of Bryan Pratt and
Keith Edie of the Sheriff Department at $1966 per month effective
April 1,1989.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Kimberly A. Allen
of the County Clerks Office at $1117.80 per month effective April 1,
1989.
The Commissioners approved the salary of Sandra Millican
of the Communications Department at $1503 per month effective April
1,1989.
The Commisisoners approved the petition for property tax
refund of the Veterinary Clinic #PP74 in the amount of $96.07.
The Commissioners received information from the US Department
of the Interior, Bureau of Reclamation regarding the Environmental Impact
Statement regarding further development of the Columbia Basin Project.
The Commissioners drafted a letter to Tim Nord of the
Department of Ecology regarding Hazardous Waste Siting Standards.
The Commissioners met with the Port of Moses Lake regarding
matters of mutual concern.
As there was no further business the session was continued
until April. 25,1989.
April 25,1989
The session was continued at 9:00 a.m. with Commissioner
Chandler and. Commissioner Goodwin in attendance with the Clerk of the
Board. Commissioner Chamberlain was out of town.
The Commissioners met with the Public Works Department
regarding Bid Recommendation-Auctioneering Services(Re-bid) 10:00 a.m.
Road Establishment Hearing('K' SW), and Bid Opening('5' SW & Beverly -
Burke.
A Public Hearing was held and a motion was made by Commis-
sioner Chandler and seconded by Commissioner Goodwin that Resolution
Number 89 -36 -CC in the matter of establishing County Road 'K' SE be
passed. The motion carried.
The Public Hearing regarding a supplemental extension in the
Mental Health and Family Services Fund 4408 was continued until May 1,
1989 due to incomplete legal notification.
As of this date the Board by a majority vote does approve
for payment those vouchers included in the list filed in the Auditors
Office for 4/24/89 in the total amount of $359,235.60.
The Commissioners signed the Public Works Payroll Journal
for the Month of April in the amount of $157,347.08.
A Public Meeting was held and a motion was made by Commis-
sioner Goodwin and seconded by Commissioner Chandler that Resolution
Number 89 -37 -CC in the matter of the changing the zoning from "A" to
"5--1" a portion of S26,T20N.,R27E.W.M. be passed. The motion carried.
A Public Meeting was held and a motion was made by Commis-
sioner Chandler and seconded by Commissioner Goodwin that Resolution
Number 89 -38 -CC adopting rules and procedures for the Grant County
Planning Commission be passed. The motion carried.
As there was no further business the session was adjourned
until May 1,1989.

BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Minutes amended 5/3/89 to include the bid opening held April 25 at 10:00 a.m.
regarding 'S' SW & Beverly -Burke Roads. The bids were referred to the P.W.D.
for their recommendations.
