Petition to amend Section 6.08.650 of the Grant County Code titled "Special regulations to specific lakes
in Grant County"

The Commissioners held an Open Record Public Hearing to consider Petition to amend Section 6.08.650
of the Grant County Code titled "Special regulations to specific lakes in Grant County".
Conner McKeegan of Hawley Troxell Attorneys and Counselors presented the petition by area residents
and Campbell Ranch, Inc. that will include special regulations on Warden Lake. He also presented two
draft ordinances for consideration. He stated the lake is fairly narrow, and they want to preserve safe
recreation.
D,n Campbell represents Campbell Ranch and appreciates the Board's consideration.
Monica Campbell represents Campbell Ranch and is in support of the petition.
Commissioner Stone asked Campbell Ranch, what is the position of WDFW. John Sorensen stated that
WDFW has been supportive all the way through the petition process.
Dean Campbell summarized that WFDF isn't wanting to set policy within counties. That is why they are
not making comments on this issue.
A motion was made by Commissioner Stone, seconded by Commissioner Jones, to close the public
comment portion of the hearing. The motion passed with 2 Commissioners in attendance.
Commissioner Stone thanked the petitioners for the two options provided. A motion was made by
Commissioner Stone to approve the ordinance and code amendment for Warden Lake and add section
(i) titled Warden Lake as follows:
(1) It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to operate a vessel at a speed in excess of five
mph minimum wake on Warden Lake.
(2) It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to operate a personal watercraft or to engage
in water skiing, or to operate a vessel towing a person on, but not limited to, any skis,
surfboard, aquaplane, kneeboard, tube, or any other similar device, on Warden Lake.
Commissioner Jones seconded and the motion passed with 2 Commissioners in attendance. The hearing
adjourned.
