Re: Request for approval of Air conditioning for the Ardell Kitchen
The 2020 approved capital budget had $15,000 set aside for Air conditioning to be installed in
the old Eagles Booth. We are shelving that project because the building needs substantially
more work than just an AC unit. We aren't even sure if the building is worth putting more
money into but will reassess for 2021.
The most -needed place for A/C is the Ardell Kitchen and cafe seating area. It gets extremely hot
and uncomfortable to the point that it is not healthy to work in.
I obtained seven options from four different local vendors. All suggested a mini -split heat pump
of various sizes. Prices include installation and taxes.

(1) 36,000 BTU unit in Kitchen only

(1) 48,000 BTU, two zone, both areas

(1) unit, 24,000 BTU for kitchen and $18k for Cafe
$10,378.17
I am requesting authorization to purchase from Polhamus Option 2 due to the larger unit for
the kitchen which needs the most cooling. Budget line is 126.168.00.9116.594736214 from
REET funds.
