Central Services renovated the Agriculture building with the desired outcome being that we could
eventually condition the space and utilize the building throughout the year. The original intent was to
simply fix the buildings envelope and insulate the building as a start.
We had two different budget lines for this work totaling $130,000. The bid for the envelope alone was
just under $100,000 leaving us approximately $30,000 for a possible HVAC Installation.
We actually had the correct budget for this work however, we discovered the power infrastructure would
not support the installation of the HVAC and will require substantial work to get the power routed to the
building. This will also provide limited 3 phase power for any future expansion to other buildings north of
the Red Gate. We will need to bid most of the associated work with the completion of this project.
Central Services have funds in other project areas that will not be utilized and is asking the board to
authorize the use of those funds for this project. The estimated amount required is $38,000 and can be
paid from the 309 funds associated with fairgrounds equipment. This will be used trench power from the
south end of the 4H around to the back side of the Agriculture building where the PUD will set a
transformer. This will provide power for the Agriculture building and additional (limited) power for
buildings north of the red gate.
