SIP #2020-4: Warden Commercial Truck Parking Facility (requested $61,000 grant) RECEIVED Applicant: City of Warden AUG 13 2U20 GRANT COUNTY COMMISSIONERS Recommendation: The committee voted to recommend a $61,000 grant for the City of Warden regarding their need for a truck parking facility. These funds would help facilitate the planning and design of a new commercial truck parking facility which will provide designated off-street parking and amenities for the vehicles and their drivers. This will give a facility for new trucking businesses to start up. This will also reduce the adverse effects of overweight vehicles on under rated streets in the city and will decrease opportunities for vandalism and theft of vehicles. By parking the trucks in the new area this will also remove the vehicles from downtown and the central business area lending to a better opportunity to attract businesses and visitors. Motion made by Curt Morris, seconded by Scott Hunter passed with unanimous vote. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the recommendations of the committee. Sincerely, Brant Mayo Administrator Grant County SIP Advisory Committee
