Per the approved 2020 Capital Budget, from 309 funds, $3,040 was set aside for chicken cages. The hope
was to get 60 new cages for the barn we renovated last year. I solicited Hales Farm and Feed in Ephrata
as well as Basin Feed in Moses Lake. Neither had a good line on stackable show cages.
A search on the internet found two companies that sell a stackable show cage, typically used for Fairs.
Choices were limited because most stackable chicken cages are brooding cages, set up for egg
production and do not work well for showing.
Bids shown:
Bass Equipment Company
Hatching Time
Hales Farm and Feed
Basin Feed
$3,558.95 incl freight/taxes
$3,743.52 incl freight/taxes

Both prices are higher than the allotted amount but Tom Gaines has additional 309 funds for
Campground/Barn renovation which stands at $196,960.
I request authorization to move forward with the purchase of chicken cages from Bass Equipment
Company for $3558.85. The bulk of the purchase will come from 309 funds allocated for this purchase
at $3040. The remaining $518.85 will come from Tom Gaines budget for Campground Barn
renovation.
The Budget number is 309.000.00.0000.573703500
you for your consideration
