Re: Request to Award Contract For Grant County Asphalt Maintenance RFB FM2001
Facilities and Maintenance sent out a RFB for project FM2001 to crack seal, seal coat and re -
stripe and mark all the lots on the Grant County Courthouse campus on street, Youth Services on
Abel Road in Ephrata, and the GrIS lots on Plum St in Moses Lake. This is done to extend the
life of the asphalt, keep the lots safer by reducing cracking, and maximize parking by having
clearly defined stalls.
Six bids were submitted and the lowest responsive bidder was MOE Asphalt Patching and
Sealcoating from Wenatchee, Wa, with a low bid for all three campus lots of $51,263.94 with tax.
We propose using the approved funds;
$22,500 / 126.168.00.9112.594186211 from GCFM
$12,464.64 / 108.150.00.0000.594.64.6400 from GrIS
$16310.82 / 126.168.00.9112.594736210 from GCFM cooling tower costs
The Remaining funds, $16,310.82 would be moved from the cooling tower maintenance costs
where we expect savings this year and can apply those savings to this project.
It is my opinion that Grant County should accept the bid from MOE Asphalt Patching &
Sealcoating Inc. Therefore, I am recommending to the Board and I am asking for your approval
to award this contract to MOE Asphalt Patching and Sealcoating, 602105986, for the amount of
$51263.94. The costs will be paid out of the funds listed on this request.
Sincerely,
51&142 .56"wl a
