HomeMy WebLinkAbout*Other - ElectionsAUTHORIZATION OF CANVASSING BOARD REPRESENTATIVES AUDITOR'S STAFF WE the Grant County Canvassing Board, acting under authority given in RCW 29A.60, WAC 434-262-015, do hereby authorize the following persons: Trisha Stevens Dedra Osborn Michele Blondin to act as our representatives. Their duties shall include issuing vote by mail ballots, mailing vote by mail ballots, inventory of vote by mail ballots, securing vote by mail ballots to be issued; and vote by mail ballots that have been voted and returned; examine the postmark, receipt mark, date of oath and statement on the outer envelope containing the vote by mail ballots; and to verify that the voter's signature thereon is the same as that on the original application. This may be done prior to Election Day. The same representatives will also make the determinations on the problems concerning the correctness of the questioned ballots, i.e., proper voter registration, proper address, proper precinct and whether or not the ballot should be submitted to the Canvassing Board for further action. The Canvassing Board shall decide all unresolved issues concerning questioned ballots. Further, the same representatives, according to Canvassing Board Policy and Procedures, Section 4; & Section 5.b, will duplicate the unreadable ballots. This procedure will be advertised in a legal paper for the general public and the chairs of the major political parties will also be notified of the exact time and place that the duplications will be done. The same representatives will conduct the auditing functions of the election records, (ballot control record, transport carrier log, audit report, etc.) after each election. Such auditing functions will contribute to the final certification of the election. Maria Lugar/Karrie Stockton This representative(s) will be handling the ballots through the mail room process. This delegation of authority shall be in effect for all the functions for the Presidential Primary Election, to be held March 10, 2020. Further, the Canvassing Board acknowledges that from time to time the individuals designated as its representatives will change as staff changes occur in the Auditor's Office, requiring additions to and/or deletions from the list of individuals listed above. I will serve for the time frame stated below.
