Fairgrounds update agenda for 3/15/2021
Planned equestrian events
• State approved plan from July 2020 still in effect
Staffing status
• Posting the Events Coordinator on the 22"d of March with hire date around May 1
• We typically have six starting in April but only hiring 1 for now.
• We can look at furlough again in the Fall (Kirk extends past June)
Budget look
• Comparison of last four years through Feb
• Status of events for 2021 compared to 2019
• May require another budget extension in the Fall
• Holding back on non -required operational purchases
• Can we plan on a similar appropriation for entertainment in 2022?
Fair Planning
• Most Entertainment booked, have not held back as much as I was hoping
• Waiting for word on premium funding from the State
• Contracted services contracts nearly done
• Sponsorship letters and contacts are being made
Status of Projects
• New stalls for Barn 46 and 47 have been ordered
• New Porta a cools are on site (6)
• Ag building is nearly ready to rent (1 wedding booked)
• Asphalt contract for stalls has been awarded
• Southfield lighting project is underway
• Tree purchases planned this month (Approximately 20 trees)
• New Tractor with attachments due at the end of this month
• Water tank proposals received —awarding soon
• Steam Cleaner and equipment trailer purchased
• Debris removal on hold (Reason)
• You will receive a request for new swine show rings and pens soon (I have budget in Capital)
• You will receive a request for ATV purchases (Tom and I have budget in Capital)
• Commercial restrooms —Tom will be working on engineering docs (Probably won't be done for
Fair)
• Stall mats — Waiting on new stalls to purchase
• Economic Impact Study —Materials sent to Consultant
